Our smaller class sizes means more one-on-one attention for your child, less chance of over-stimulation and less behavioral issues in the classroom. The teacher has more opportunity to get to know your child and his or her individual needs, and use that knowledge to inform the curriculum activities. Your child will also spend more time engaged in learning activities, when the teacher is not spending as much time managing behavior.
Surrounded by trees nestled on the 10.4 acre property of St. Raphael's Parish, Little Explorers has plenty of indoor and outdoor space for a variety of learning experiences while being tucked away in its own little bubble. We have a fenced in outdoor play area which includes a large 190'x115' grass field adjacent to a 60'x50' playground area. The surrounding woods provide privacy, security, and ample nature to explore!
We offer a full menu developed and updated with help from our Registered Dietitian consultant. Our meals are made on-site in our full commercial kitchen, using fresh ingredients ordered weekly from the local grocery store.
We were one of the only centers in the area who remained open for essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, so we became PROs at cleaning and sanitizing. Our UVC sanitizing equipment offers a chemical free way to inactivate viruses and destroy living organisms such as illness causing bacteria with 99.9% efficiency. We have a sanitizing tower, hand-held surface sanitizer, multiple air filters, and a sanitizing cabinet for toys and meterials.
Seriously everything! Our monthly spirit calendars have something special for every day! Whether it be our monthly pajama day or show and tell day or holidays observed by different cultures, there is always a reason to celebrate. Regularly scheduled parent events, such as our Trunk-or-Treat and our Multicultural Holiday PotLuck, allow families to get in on the celebrations, spend time around the other families and staff and stregnthen our school community.
We partner with different vendors to offer activities such as Kiddie Soccer and Little Hearts Gymnastics. Parents have the option of enrolling children in these classes which take place on-site during school hours, so that you do not have to spend evenings and weekends schlepping your little one around to these classes. There is a discounted group rate as an added bonus!
Our staff has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and everyone brings something special to the table. We invest in training some of our staff that may be new to teaching and have plenty of staff with 10, 20, 30+ years experience in early childhood education.
When our entire Pre-K had mastered all of the skills on our developmental assessment, we asked our local kindergarten teachers what more we could add to our assessments... nothing was the answer. Our assessments were more comprehensive than what they used in public school! Every year since then, our alumni parents express their gratitude for how prepared their children are for kindergarten.
Summer break? Spring break? Winter break? Wouldn't it be nice if all jobs offered these extended closures? The reality is... they don't. We know parents don't get days off when many schools do, so we stay open as well. With only 10 scheduled closure days, throughout the entire year and our longest closure being a four-day weekend for Thanksgiving, you can save your PTO for something fun!
Choosing the right place for your child is a HUGE decision and one not to be taken lightly. Regardless of all of the reasons listed above, you need to be sure that the early learning center that you choose makes you and your child feel comfortable and is the right choice for you and your family.
